This tender is for the refurbishment of Buchan Ness Lighthouse, which is situated on the east coast of the Scottish mainland, north of Aberdeen on the A90 and approximately 2 miles south of Peterhead at the village of Boddam within the Banff and Buchan District of Aberdeenshire. The lighthouse is situated on a tidal rock outcrop accessed via a reinforced concrete bridge. The lighthouse has a position Latitude 57o 28.2 ‘N, Longitude 1 46.4 ‘W. If necessary, suitable remedial and protective measures should be put in place to protect anyone on the site and the environment for the duration of the contract.
Works consist of carrying out a full Asbestos Refurbishment/Demolition Survey on all NLB operational buildings prior to commencement. Testing of the existing ‘HCL’ fall arrest system and re-certification if necessary before use and provide all relevant test certification for record and audit purposes. Full refurbishment and upgrade of the station. De-mobilise site and clear all surplus project materials and plant, with the disposal of excess project materials to appropriate licensed and registered dumps. Works to commence August 2023 with completion and site clearance by 31 October 2023. A site visit is schedule for 11 May 2023.
